Watercolor

These watercolor artworks is my learning journey. I love the medium and have been learning through various books on watercolor that I get from the city library. During COVID, I used to follow a YouTube artist channel- Imperfect Paintings by Bernadette Zuiderwijk, where he introduced different abstract artists and their styles. He introduced me to Paul Klee, and I loved his watercolor abstract work. I created around 10- 12 paintings inspired by his work. It taught me the mixing of colors.  My learning continued, and I wanted to master the art of creating textures in watercolor. Some texture work here is inspired by books on watercolor, some from the photographs. I was inspired by the quilts of Gee's Bend in Alabama. I tried many times, but still not successful.   Over the last two years, I started florals. All the paintings here were created by looking at the watercolor books -Painting Watercolor Flowers That Glow by Jan Kunz and The Watercolor Flower Painters A-Z by Adelene Fletcher.
