Collages

Collages as an art medium were unknown until shelter was in place during COVID. Samuel Price, a collage artist at Pacific Art League, Palo Alto, conducted a workshop for kids during this time. This was my first exposure to collage making. The outcomes were unique and beautiful. I went deeper and decided to learn more. I came across Cathy Taylor's collage-making demonstration with altered paper. She used a solvent to change the National Geographic magazine paper to use it for collage making. It provided me with a new medium to learn. I started with a landscape as it helped to learn how to tear the paper correctly. Around that time, I took a trip to Yosemite. I saw many birds closely and decided to start a series on the same. Some birds I sketched, some I got from my kid's coloring books. They are 5" X 7" in size
